Loss of Irene Louise C'de Baca "Goliguy

On July 23, 2002, my wife of 38 years passed away at home surrounded by friends. "Goliguy" as called by her grandsons Anthony Speccia (7 years old) and Joseph Speccia (4 years old) was loved by countless friends and clients. She was an asset to her family and community. She will be greatly missed by me and by all who knew her.

We met in 1964 when I applied for a job at Pet's Rest. We fell in love and were married shortly after and were blessed with the birth of our daughter Julane the following year. We managed Pet's Rest on and off until in 1972 when we purchased the cemetery from her parents. She helped countless numbers of people over the years both as a result of being a kind and conscience business owner and as a friend and citizen. In 1992 she had a liver transplant that allowed her nine more years of life and the ability to enjoy her grandsons. Her boys were the joy of her life and they talked every day. She particularly enjoyed researching and preparing feasts for her family and friends to enjoy. She was a woman of the world and interested in everything and anything.

I have been blessed to have her as a mate and friend. I'm not sure how to survive without her beaming smile and daily encouragement. Life, for me, will never be the same.
